The Urban Redensification project in Apodaca, Nuevo León, addresses the growing demand for social housing in an area dominated by single-family homes. The proposal seeks to retain the essential characteristics of these homes while introducing vertical development to increase density and maximize land use in line with the surrounding urban environment. This approach not only optimizes available space but also enhances natural ventilation, lighting, and outdoor spaces typical of the neighboring residences.
Rather than imposing a single housing typology, our approach is to diversify and offer options that meet the needs of various family configurations and budgets. The project consists of five elements, including three types of housing units with different sizes and layouts designed to accommodate a range of occupants.
Additionally, private community services are integrated across four floors, featuring a rooftop terrace and commercial space on the building’s ground floor. This mix of activities and services aims to foster community interaction and enliven the surrounding environment.
